This year we have a variety of Thanksgiving birds:
We have our Woven Owls, Phoenixes of Persia and Gobbling Turkeys Comics by our 3rd graders.
Our Kindergarten pupils went home with corn to make popcorn to share with their families. They learned about the story of Thanksgiving through puppets and theatrical play.
The kids in first grade have really appreciated listening to a beautiful story from a different country where some of our young students come from: Persia. These are our Phoenix puppets with magic feathers.
Finally, here you have the paper weaving project with our second graders. They worked hard learning how to create paper looms.
The following week, we learned about abstract painting to the rhythm of crazy sounds…and how to carefully tear paper to make colourful feathers for our funny looking owls.
Since we have to say goodbye to our little Scottish girl in the kindergarten, we decided to celebrate also St. Andrew’s Day. It’s a national holiday in Scotland and is celebrated on the 30th of November.
